Amikor k�z�p Finnorsz�gban egy kis v�ros �ssziskol�j�nak tan�rai megpr�b�lt�k a 11 �ves Sammy-t matekra �s f�ldrajzra tan�tani, ahelyett, hogy nagy �rdekl�d�st mutasson olyan band�k, mint a W.A.S.P., M�tley Cr�e �s Hanoi Rocks, eln�zt�k azt a dolgot, hogy egy m�sik gyerek – Eliaz – egy m�sik oszt�lyban, egy ajt�val od�bb, ugyanezek ut�n �rdekl�d�tt.
Private Linet eredetileg a 90-es �vek k�zep�n alatp�totta Sammy, a git�ros Jari �s egy p�r iskolai bar�tjuk. Eliaz – a gyerek p�r �vvel kor�bban a suliban – csatlakozott a band�hoz r�viddel azut�n, hogy tal�lkozott Sammy-vel egy buliban. Hamar r�j�ttek, hogy nem csak a zene az, ami k�z�s benn�k, hanem a rock ’n ’ roll hanyatl�s�nak b�lcsess�ge ir�nti �rdekl�d�s. Private Line r�szt vett egy p�r egy�ttes versenyen�s az �sszes nyerem�nyp�nzt az els� EP-j�k felv�teleire �s kiad�s�ra k�lt�tt�k 1998-ban. A „Smooth Motions” vegy�ti a hard rock-ot �s a vad ritmusokat. A banda elkezdett turn�zni �s n�h�ny v�ltoz�son ment �t. Az �j fel�ll�s Sammy-vel, Eliaz-al, Jari-val �s Spit-tel studi�ba vonult, hogy egy 5 sz�mos prom� cd-t vegyenek fel, ami el�g j� visszajelz�st kapott k�l�n�sen Finnorsz�gon k�v�l. A j� promo cd felv�telek ellen�re 2001 egy bizonytalan �v volt az egy�ttes �let�ben – Jari elhagyta a band�t �s bel�pett a finn met�l kir�lyok Timo Rautiainen �s Trio Niskalaukaus mell� – Sammy pedig Helsinki Rock City-be k�lt�z�tt, de a t�bbi tag hamar k�vette �t. 2002 elej�n Sammy belefutott Jack-be (ex-Palm Cut) amikor a helsinki �jszak�t fedezte fel �s elhat�rozt�k, hogy egyes�tik erej�ket �s �j �letet lehelnek a Private Line-ba. A banda egy igen er�s pr�ba id�szakot kezdett meg �s �j anyagot vettek fel. 2002 december�ben egy mini cd-t jelentettek meg „Six Songs Of Hellcity Trendkill” c�mmel. A mini cd lelkes visszajelz�seket kapott a finn rockm�di�t�l �s sok m�s nemzetk�zi magazin is le volt ny�g�zve az �j finn egy�ttest�l. A banda egy 40 koncertes turn�t adott Finnorsz�gban �s fantasztikus rajong�kra tettek szert. Private Line saj�t bevall�suk szerint a 80 �ves sleaze �s a korai 90-es �vek alternat�v punk zen�j�vel nagy utat kezdett meg. Az �nekes Sammy hangj�t, sz�npadi megjelen�s�t �s showcsin�l�i kvalit�sait sokszor hasonl�tott�k Vince Neil-hez (M�tley Cr�e) �s Sebastian Bach-hoz (Skid Row). Az �j deb�t�l� album a „21st Century Pirates” sokat mes�l a band�r�l, a zen�j�kr�l �s a be�ll�totts�gaikr�l. Kigyakorolt�k a kal�zkod�st, �gy, hogy a gyerekkori h�seik l�nyeges elemeit k�lcs�nvett�k �s ellopt�k �s ezt egy saj�tos 21 sz�zadi modern hangz�ss� alak�tott�k �t. K�t �vi turn�z�s ut�n a finn kik�t�kben, azonnal a harmadik helyre ker�ltek a finn top 20-ban „Forever and a day” c�m� sz�mukkal 2004 febru�rj�ban. A sz�m benne volt a „Levottomat 3” c�m� filmben �s bet�tdala volt a „Sleep Tight”-nak. A m�sodik maxi amib�l a vide� is k�sz�lt (Los Angeles-ben) a „1-800-Out-Of-Nowhere” j�nius 30 jelent meg Finnorsz�gban �s kap�sb�l a 4. Helyre ker�l a kislemezlist�n. 21st Century Pirates megjelent Jap�nban, Oroszorsz�gban �s Olaszorsz�gban. Az �j albummal a Private Line k�szen van, hogy elrabolja a sz�veteket - �s nem fognak semmi j�indulatot mutatni �s nem fognak foglyot ejteni!
2004 v�g�n egy egyhetes olaszorsz�gi turn�t csin�ltak �s az els� �rintkez�sre a spanyol rajong�kkal Barcelon�ban, Spanyolorsz�gban ker�lt sor. A harmadik kislemezre kim�solt dal az „Already Dead” 2004 december�ben j�tt ki �s a finn kislemezlist�kon a hatodik helyig jutott.

When teachers at a comprehensive school in a small town in central Finland tried to make 11-year-old Sammy study in maths and geography instead of his overwhelming interest in acts like W.A.S.P, Motley Crue and Hanoi Rocks they intentionally left out the fact that another kid – named Elias - on another class next door had exactly similar interests…

Private Line was originally formed in the mid-90s by Sammy, guitar-player Jari and some of their school mates. Eliaz – the kid in the block…. erm….. school some years earlier joined the band shortly after meeting Sammy at a house party – they soon came to notice it was not only music they shared in common but found themselves interested in the overall wisdom of Rock’n’roll Decadence as well. Private Line participated in quite a few band competitions and used all their prize monies they got to record and release their first EP in 1998. The material on “Smooth Motions” combined hard-rock influences and fierce rhythms. The band started touring and after the tour they went through some line-changes. The new line-up including Sammy, Eliaz, Jari ,Spit and Ilari went to the studio to record 5-song promo-CD which got quite nice response, especially from outside of Finland. Despite of the good reception of the Promo-CD, the year 2001 was uncertain time for the band – Jari left the band and joined Finnish metal kings Timo Rautiainen ja Trio Niskalaukaus – and Sammy moved to Helsinki Rock City and was soon after followed by rest of the band. In the beginning of 2002 Sammy bumped into Jack (ex- Palm Cut) while exploring the nightlife of Helsinki and they decided to join their forces and breathe new life into Private Line.

The band started intense rehearsing period and went on to record new kick-ass material. In the December 2002 Private Line released a new Mini-CD titled “Six Songs Of Hellcity Trendkill” (released by Bad Habits/ Kråklund Records). Mini-CD got rave reviews from the Finnish rock media and also many international print- and webzines were enthusiastic about these Finnish newcomers. The band did a 40-show tour of Finland and created themselves a fanatic fanbase. Private Lines loud as f**k mix of 80`s sleaze and early 90`s alternative punk was now starting to make bigger and bigger waves. The lead singer Sammy`s vocals, stage presence and showmanship was more than often compared to the likes of Vince Neil (Motley Crue) and Sebastian Bach (Skid Row).

The title of the brand-new debut album by Private Line ”21st Century Pirates” tells a whole lot about the band, their music and their attitude. They have practiced their piracy by borrowing and stealing the most essential elements from their childhood heroes and turned it into their own 21st century glam sound. After touring Finlands rock`n roll harbors for two straight years they went to number 3. on the finnish Top 20 single-chart with “Forever And a Day” in February. With the new “21st Century Pirates, Private Line is ready to steal your heart – They will show no mercy and take no prisoners.
